- minus one, Fire!" From
the far reaches of the unknown come transcribed tales of new dimensions in
time and space. These are stories of the future, adventures in which you'll
live in a million could-be years on a thousand may-be worlds - - X Minus One was an extension of the earlier NBC series Dimension
X. With the first 15 shows being
straight repeats from Dimension X, X Minus One then struck out into deeper space with new adaptations
from Astounding Science Fiction Magazine and Galaxy Magazine as
well as an occasional original (Dimension X) to keep the mix intriguing. X Minus One transcended its parent program with some of the
most creative melodrama the medium has yet heard. Apart from its magazine affiliations, X Minus One gathered stories from such renown sci-fi writers as
Isaac Asimov, Robert Bloch, Robert A. Heinlein and Poul Anderson. A major asset was the NBC
writing staff: two primary adapters, Ernest Kinoy and George Lefferts were capable not only of distilling magazine
stories but of writing their own superb originals. Luckily all episodes of
this great series have survived. Want

attempt to revive the series in 1973 resulted in one further (original) 114th
